I’ve really gotten into my physical activity self-challenge.  I get up and do a short aerobic routine while there’s still shade behind the van.  The wireless earbuds  Rory got me for Christmas are ueful during this so that my camping neighbors don’t have to hear the driving music that goes with the routine.  Then Dave and I go for a walk around the perimeter of the campground before the heat of the day begins, about 1 mile.  Once that’s done, we stay close to the shade of the van as the sun heats everything up and the breeze starts up to mitigate the heat.  Around 3 pm, the breeze has blown in tons of fluffy clouds and we can take another 1 mile walk while the clouds intermittently block the sun.  Every evening there is a Ranger Talk at the amphitheater, so we walk over there as the sun is sinking behind the hills, then walk back afterward, and that’s another mile.  So almost 3 miles per day, and  I’m finally feeling a lot less sore and actually enjoying it!  By the way, 80 degrees today, but by the time we head for the Ranger Talk and the sun is down, we will have on long pants, heavy sweatshirts, and I also wear a winter beanie because the drop in temperature is sudden, plus the breeze is still blowing.  The amphitheater benches are metal, and by 7:30 pm they are cold and the Rangers give out seat pads to sit on.  The desert weather pattern is interesting.
