Saturday-Tuesday, July 10-13, 2022 Barnhouse Campground

Went about 40 miles down Hwy 26, through Mitchell, up Forest Service Road 12 for 5 miles to a FREE Forest Service campground called Barnhouse Spring. We set up the tent here in a deeply shaded spot, and set up our solar panels for the first time. They are working great to recharge our solar generator. We plan to stay here 3 or 4 days. There’s a trailhead near our campsite-–will have to check it out.

Still at Barnhouse Springs Campground. No one here now at all but us. A deer walked through our camp yesterday evening. Just walked through slowly, browsing and looking at us. Hung around nearby to eat, then slowly wandered away.
I thibnk this week is Thomas’ second week at Leadership Camp. I really hope he is having a great time.

Still at Barnhouse. It’s calm and generally cool here, although today is our hottest day so far. I am journaling in the tent after writing postcards to all the grandkids, and Dave is sitting outside in the shade playing guitar. We have the solar panels out and also have the black shower bag out in the sun. Hoping to have hot water for a body rinse off later. My deep cough like I had in Tahoe is back. We’re thinking maybe the particular kinds of pine trees here are bothering me. Will probably leave tomorrow for a diferent spot. Some cottonwood groves are listed nearby on the map. We’ll see what we can find. I used the nebulizer twice yesterday. It helped a little.
