Headed to Crater Lake today.  The valley on Hwy 66 south of Crater Lake was a truly beautiful area.  Irrigated grass land with cattle, dotted with farms, and the trees almost looked like they had been thinned and arranged to looik like a lovely park.  Really enjoyed the drive (this was around Fort Klamath).

Crater Lake was just as stunning as all the pictures of it indicate.  Got some food at the Mazana Village Restaurant before we took the West Rim drive. There were signs on the door at the restaurant and the gift shop saying masks required.  Dave and I, plus the employees there, were the only people in the whole place wearing masks.  Everyone else looked at us with surprise.  Can no one read a sign?

Continued north to Diamond Lake and Broken Arrow Campground.   There is almost no one here on a Thursday afternoon, but this place (with at least 100 camp sites) is totally booked for this weekend.  We can only stay one night.  There are showers here, so we will utilize them before leaving tomorrow morning and head for Bend, Oregon.  We’ll stop for some extra groceries there.

Left Broken Arrow Campground at Diamond Lake, Oregon, after a great shower.  Drove to Bend, shopped for groceries and shower flip flops, then got fuel and headed out of town.  Camped overnight at a Forest Service campground called Ococho Divide.  Had a great steak dinner.  Used our big propane bottle for the first time (had been finishing off a couple of little bottles before today).  Lots of road noise here.  We are learning what makes a good campground and what situations should be rejected.
