After all the wedding chores and commitments were complete, we left Zoey’s home and family and went to see son Rory and grandson Thomas.  It was great to spend time with them as we continued making adjustments to the van interior so that we will be ready to cook from inside the van now that the weather is starting to turn colder.  Dave has relocated our camp chairs and portable solar panels to be accessed from the far back doors, and we have moved the cooking gear into the area under the bed that is reached from the inside.  Dave built a wooden “tray” that one of our collapsible tables will be anchored to, and also built a sheet metal deflector that will be on the wall above/behind the cooking stove.  The “tray” has partial sides all around and will serve as a low shelf where I can store skillet, griddle, and other pans for reaching easily.  The camp stove will sit up on the table top when we cook and the hose will go through the pop-out window behind it to reach the propane tank outside.  We have another skinny table that can be set up perpendicular to the camp stove table for food prep and cleanup.  Under it will sit the cooler/fridge.  I think it’s going to work out great!  I’m considering making a fabric skirt around the cooking table to hide the pots and pans and to keep them sheltered from dust.

It has begun to rain lightly here in Monterey, which is a blessing–the entire state is so dry.  Supposed to continue raining off and on for the next few days.
