Over the weekend snow fell in Colorado.  A slow moving storm, it passed lightly over the mountains and dumped lots of snow on the Denver metroplex and even more snow out on the eastern plains.  The town of Limon on I-70 received 35 inches of very wet snow.  The interstate highway was closed for a while.  Days later the highway is open, but the town is still digging out.  The National Guard was deployed to help them.  Here in Greeley it snowed off and on for 3 days and nights.  Probably accumulated 4 inches.  Just a little ways north of town, no snow fell.  Basically it has all melted now.  Our wet parking lot turns to ice at night and slowly melts as the sun hits it each morning.  The park trail was plowed as soon as the snow stopped falling, so it is dry with no ice, a plus for taking walks.

We are currently packing for a 4 day trip into Wyoming.  Our plan is to visit Independence Rock near Casper, then head northeast near Gillette to Devils Tower.  All this of course depends upon favorable weather forecasts.  So far, looks like we’ll be good to go.
